Decay and Evil in America… by Default.
The United States of America is the greatest nation that has ever been formed on this planet and human beings are the supreme beings on this planet, bar none. We are the masters of our environment and this country has come closet to the best thing that has happened in our known Universe. Now that I have made a rather bold statement… I will try for a little while show you what goes into me thinking that way.
The United States that I am talking about was the time of the Revolution, when great men provided the guidance for a brand new way of thinking about how a government should interact with the people it was to serve. This rather small group of individuals thought of some serious issues and provided the best foundation that they could at that or any other time. That foundation has never been attempted on that scale before or very sadly since. Look at all the nations that have been founded after the USA… and the serious problems all of them have… way more than we have experienced since our founding wel over 200 years ago. Those problems range from run away inflation (Turkey, Argentina, Brazil… you name it), Endless tribal warfare ( Just about anywhere in Africa or the “Balkans” ) and serious individual rights violations just about anywhere else on the planet ( Yes, including places like Sweden, Britian, France and even Canada). The tragic flaw of most of those countries has been something that the USA almost avoided totally, it was a clear and positive seperation of Government, the “economy” and the individual. This was something no other countries “Founding Father’s” had the stomach to try to even attempt. I am talking about silliness as preserving a “Traditional” way of doing things. The USA was founded to provide its citizens with Life, Liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness. What a wonderful thing to attempt… especially looking at the world around the people of that time. I contimue to say attempt over and over again, because the foundation… even though it was stronger than any one would have ever thought ( except for some of its creators ), had its weakness built right into it from the start. ( For those who need an example… the allowance of slavery was a rather big oversight. )
This country could have really benefited from having such strong and decisive leaders appear on the forefront of our nation ever generation since. But we did not have this happen for us, and we are now being shown the results of our lack of true and decisive and logical leaders that follow the original spirit of what the Founding Father’s were trying to attempt. I say enough is enough… we as individuals can do more than any leader can for us and we need to .. as they say… “Take the bull by the horns”.
Just do all you can as an individual to not be a victim… a helpless moron that needs big Daddy Government and Mommy States to take care of our own mistakes and misfortunes. Some people would be quick to say that that is what thugs and criminals do… and yes they do that.. but the wrong way… they do it by force, fraud and implied violence. I mean do all we can to care and provide for ourselves without violating a persons individual rights. I am talking about being responsible for our actions and not defaulting to the fact that something or some one else “made” us do it… for good or bad. I think that we have gone about alot of things the wrong way… and I have written about many of them before… love, religion and selfiness just to state a few. There are many people that if confronted with moral questions about life… will default to things like emotions or religion over their own ideas of right and wrong. I for one, believe that anyone has the basic tools to make or break themselves. We do not need to default to the words, actions and behavior of the people around us for any reason than by choice. This choice should be made in a fully aware state.. after thinking about it for as long as it takes based on the situation.
I was blasted pretty good about my view point in general a couple of days ago… and I was glad the person brought it up. I was accused of thinking that my opinions are always of greater value than anyone elses. And you know what… I agreed with him… matter of fact I took that as a point to be proud of. I have and do discount any opinion of any individual that cannot give, show or explain their viewpoint in some reasonable and logical manner. If they start with things like… “My mother aways said…”, “They have show it to be”, “I read somewhere…”.. anything other than “I think that…”, they have shown me nothing that I couldn’t have gotten elsewhere on my own… so what value is hearsay to me.. none… I value the reasonable and thought out opinions of the people I am actually communicating with. Also… I would never bring up a point in which I do not have some “personal” opinion on. In other words… I would never talk about my opinions on the type of material that some clothes designer chose for their new line. I do not care or value clothes that much… so in that regard… I would not really impose any value to the opinion one way or another. But give something that I do value… and my opinions hold the most weight… by default.. until someone comes along that shows me an opinion that I value more than the one I thought of myself… then this opinion will become my opinion and will once again become something that I hold at a higher level that any other opinion out there.
I have a tatoo… that states “Bound 2 None”, and I have had it for a long long time.. and I hold that this is the true way to think about living. I am not bound to family, friends or country for that matter. I associate with the people I actively chose to. If I am not around those who I value… I move on. If I have job that I think is not paying me what I am worth… I move on. I am always looking for people to trade values with, people that I can respect in their conduct for self and people that are pursuing happiness!
Now that I think that I have beat a dead horse on the setup of where I am coming from… I will get to the point about the decay and evil by default environment that we as Americans live in. I have watched myself and people in general get caught up with living in the middle of road. I have given in a bit from time to time, thinking that I was the only person that thought the way I do, and in some regards that is very true… but the general values that I hold and pursue… are shared by others and that what helps keep me from falling and not getting back up. Nowadays I am trying to take a more active role in making sure that more people get up and start thinking again. To use the greatest power that we all have available to us… the ability to think and reason. This country is on the road to evil and decay by default for the simple reasons that people just don’t think… but feel… logic is not king… emotions are. The worst part about it… the emotions aren’t even the positive ones… but the negative… the degrading of self. People are raised in a very negative environment from the start. Given no reasons for why things should be don’t that way, mainly because those that are in the position to say “No!” have no real idea of why they do the things that they do. This is an example of living by default… tradition if you like that better. The simple fact is that guilt is an emotional weapon that is used way too often… and it shows all over the place… charity… a great thing to do.. if you would like to.. is driven mainly by forced guilt. You should “feel” guilty that you have done better than someone else in the world… give to the needy.. those who are needy for the most part by choice. I for one… will never give to into guilt again… since I figured out that is what the prime motivation for my giving in the first place. I think it is a much more logical and “humane” thing to make sure that I invest my earnings in a manner that make my life more enjoyable now and in the future. If at some point that I make the type of money that is so much I don’t know what to do with.. then I would devote money to things that would make life for me and those that I valued more enjoyable and longer if at all possible. But I tell you what, that money would never be used to help some other country… some religious group or anything other than something I would have the potential or direct benefit from. Billions of dollars are wasted yearly on “protecting” things and people that are not really “worth” it.. while the things that would make life better for all are left to chance.. or someone else. (Who? no one every answers that.) I heard about the Washington D.C. school district’s budget problem… what is this issue… why the legal fees associated with their “Special” education programs. Let me look at this a little more….. thousands of “non-special” students can look forward to a shorten school year and a reduction of thier “education” for the relatively few students that are “Special”. What the hell makes them so special? Their basic lack of tools to learn… that is what. That is utterly ridiculous… that would be like being forced to buy a piece of rotten fruit for the same price as a perfectly good piece. Who.. in their right (i.e. thinking and reasoning) mind would do that? No one! That is who. But as a nation… we allow our resources to be wasted away… by…. once again… default. No one wants to be the “bad guy”, to state that those children will not be provided anymore resources than the “non-special” ones. Hell, if I had anything say about it… the whole education “system” would get tossed out the door… but since we are stuck with it for the time being.. I say put the money where it will have the most potential to benefit us all… the children that are focused on learning and gaining knowledge, to furthering there own toolkit for understanding and improving the world around them for their own good ( and by default… making things better for the rest of us slackers and idea challenged. ) Let the Special Education students be especially talented… not specially lacking!
Yes… I am that “cold-hearted”. I did say let the “Special” education “students” and thier parents fend for themselves… since there is a cold day in hell chance for them to benefit anyone anyway. If I am forced to pay for someone else’s children to be “educated”… I want to make sure my money is not spent on a moron or some kid that doesn’t want to be in school in the first place. I cannot and will not ever “feel” anything for someone I do not know in some manner… and I could really care less… and as for other people… if you feel differently.. why don’t you send me some money… or voluteer to do my chores for me, if you were serious in doing for others that have no reasonable chance of doing for you… you find my address on this site somewhere and make you beliefs a reality. You know… I did not and will give anything for the 9-11 events… it is of the same thing as all the above for me. Now if you are a friend of the people effected by those events… I can see you helping out in any manner that you can… but not me… I checked. I am not a patriot person… I own this society nothing by default and I never will. Does this mean I won’t pay taxes and all those things… no.. I am not some a member of some “fringe” group, but I will not voluntarily give to the needy that I do not know as best I can. Even the time I was in the Navy… I was always willing to and did my best to remain an individual and treat others as such.
This country has fallen for the lazy, out of sight, out of mind way of doing things… looking for a easy way out of their personal responsiblity to look out for and care for self. I do not consider myself belonging to any group of any kind by choice… except for my being a citizen of this country. Don’t pigeonhole me with other men, or blacks or libertarians or any other easy to dismiss labels. I expect you to evaluate me on my own merits in light of the values that you hold for yourself, I will except no less and give no more myself… as it should and can be. This failure to evaulate things on merit.. not emotion is what is causing our efforts to be wasted.. more and more every day… little by little… values… devalued… that slow rot… decay.
As for evil… it is not something that is a given, something that has to be overcome or fought against by default. Evil is something that comes from an individual or group of individuals that have no respect for self first and foremost. And since we as humans cannot value something more than ourselves, that is what causes people to use force, fraud and implied violence against another… as they defraud, abuse and enslave themselves. The default attitude is that everyone is trying to “get over” everyone else… that we all have alterior motives and “hidden” agendas. Get over what? Alterior motives… what about motives period? And hidden agendas… hell, give me someone with some clear cut and thought out goals anytime… just because I don’t know what they are does not make them “evil”. I hear peole complain about the political system we have today… it is there by default! People tell themselves that they are chosing a candidate based on the fact that they are the “lesser of two evils”, this basic political attitude goes to show how far “default” has become the way.
Lesser of two evils… hmmm… let’s see.. I have Evil, and Evil:Light… well I am watching my evil consumption this election season… so I will have some of that Evil:Light. What kind of nonsense is that? Living by “default”, that is what that is. The second part is… “two” evils… automatically there are only two choices…. Republican and Democratic.. that is it… no other considerations at all… by default. Life is all about choices… make the right ones.. and live… make the wrong ones or none at all and die, simple are that. Now if I substituted Poison for evil… and election season for dinner… would you chose Poison or Poison:Light… you answer… by default… “Do I have to?”. The right answer would be to say I will choose to have dinner tonight if that is all that is being served… welcome to the world of Poison(Evil):Light folks… start thinking… for your own health ( of mind. )
